Under general direction, gathers, analyzes, and understands business needs and system design. Leads process improvement projects and applies six sigma and similar methodologies and analytics to accomplish measurable business process improvements. Communicates with users/business and IT staff to examine business processes and requests, develop complex detailed requirements, and build process flow charts for the creation of applications, systems, and enhancements. Formulates and recommends solutions and options that improve efficiency, effectiveness, and automation. Mentors and trains less experienced Business Analysts. Proficient to work at the highest level of all phases of analysis, process improvement methodologies, and project management.

Essential Functions Liaison between the business and IT groups during the development and implementation of new systems and enhancements to current ones. Identifies business and systems processes and procedures needs. Employs process improvement practices and techniques to analyze and recommend solutions that will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of business processes and procedures. Facilitates requirements by organizing gathering sessions and other related events. Examines and evaluates business needs/requests to describe what the processes, systems, and service must do to fulfill the request. Records/updates business and functional requirements/specifications, for a simple report, system, or an application. Conducts feasibility and economic studies to justify the recommended automation or process improvement. Creates measures of success in assessing the effectiveness of the proposed solution. Mentor and train other Business Analysts. Develops test plans and scripts for user acceptance testing. Assists in the development of PMO processes and procedures for all Business Analyst activities.
