AECOM is seeking an Air Quality Scientist III. The Natural Resources and Environmental Permitting Department in New York and New Jersey is seeking a qualified scientist (3-10 yrs experience) to perform air quality and/or noise impact analyses through using mathematical modeling tools and conducting ambient and source air and noise monitoring programs. Skills required for this position include but are not limited to: Perform field work in both urban and rural settings. Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Ability to work as part of a larger team is a must. Eager to learn various air and noise modeling software.

Minimum Qualifications Ambient and noise monitoring experience required. BS degree in Physics, Mathematics, Atmospheric Science, Environmental Engineering, or similar + 4 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. Valid Driver’s License and as a condition of employment must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review. Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required.

Strong analytical and computational skill. Candidate must have excellent technical writing skills and ability to effectively discussion his or her work. Candidate must be detail oriented and have the ability to work independently. Candidate must be experienced with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with ArcGIS, AutoCAD, AERMOD, MOVES, CadnaA or SoundPLAN, sound levels meter, and/or air monitoring equipment a plus. 40 hour HAZWOPER training.

Estimated office/field time: 70% / 30%. Must be willing to travel. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
