As part of Adtran's internal AI roadmap, we are seeking a Senior AI Software Engineer to join a cross-functional team of developers and subject-matter experts to build and deliver enterprise-grade AI solutions aligned with our business objectives. Working closely with our AI architects and stakeholders, this role implements scalable AI systems, takes features from prototype to production, and ensures the solutions it builds meet our security, governance, and reliability standards.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain AI/ML services and applications for enterprise use cases, from prototype through to production Implement and maintain data and ML pipelines - including ingestion, data structures, feature preparation, and model deployment - within the team's overall data and AI architecture Integrate large language models and agentic workflows into enterprise applications via APIs and protocols such as MCP Collaborate with architects, stakeholders, and subject-matter experts to turn AI use cases into working, well-tested solutions Build and maintain evaluation, testing, monitoring, and retraining workflows to keep models reliable in production Ensure the systems you build adhere to data privacy, security, compliance, and responsible AI standards (including bias mitigation, explainability, and audit trails) Contribute to cost-efficient AI operations by writing efficient code and being mindful of infrastructure and model consumption costs Write clean, well-documented, production-grade code and uphold engineering standards through code reviews and testing Provide technical mentorship to other engineers and share knowledge across the team Required Skills and Qualifications Proven hands-on experience building and shipping AI/ML systems to production Strong software engineering fundamentals, with expert-level proficiency in Python Experience integrating generative AI and large language models into real applications (RAG, prompt engineering, orchestration) Practical experience with data engineering, model deployment, and MLOps (model lifecycle, versioning, monitoring, retraining) Working proficiency with modern ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or equivalent Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and their AI services Familiarity with data pipeline and data lakehouse concepts, and with building APIs and enterprise integrations Sound understanding of testing, CI/CD, containerization, and production-grade software delivery Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team Preferred Qualifications Hands-on experience building agentic systems and integrating LLMs via protocols such as MCP Experience implementing AI solutions for operations, sales, or finance use cases (e.g., demand planning, inventory management, forecasting) Working knowledge of modern data processing platforms such as Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, or Snowflake Familiarity with vector databases and retrieval systems Familiarity with enterprise security and compliance frameworks Degree in Computer Science, AI, or a related field Compensation and Benefits Stable employment conditions based on an employment contract (turnover rate below 4%) 1 additional vacation day for all, and 1 extra after 10 years with us Flexible working hours and hybrid work (presence in the office in Gdynia 3 days a week) English lessons during working hours Internal training program to support your training needs Paid employee referral program Multisport Card
