Job Description
Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Flight Dynamics Study & Operations Engineer (f/m) to join our “Flight Dynamics & Mission Analysis” department within the AOCS, GNC, and Flight Dynamics transnational division based in Toulouse, France. This department is in charge of the mission analysis and Flight Dynamics (FD) activities for Earth Observation, science and telecommunication missions. These activities encompass advanced studies, mission analysis, development of the operational Flight Dynamics Software (FDS) and operations. The department is thus providing a global end-to-end approach on the Flight Dynamics system for all our business units. As s Study & Operations Engineer , you will be in charge of the studies, Flight Dynamics Software development and LEOP preparation and execution in coordination with the other members of the FD team . You will report directly to the Head Of department. This position required to take over on-call duty periods and 24/7 work shifts during operations. Your challenges: 1/ Mission Analysis: Perform mission analysis and deliver associated datapacks and documentation, Maintain and improve mission analysis tools and processes. 2/ Flight Dynamics operational software and procedures: Develop, maintain and improve the operational Flight Dynamics Software (FDS), in accordance with requirements and needs established by FD architects, Product owner, project Study lead and other stakeholders, Maintain and contribute to the definition of operational concepts for transfer and station keeping in accordance with system requirements, Contribute to knowledge management and dissemination. 3/ Operations: Take responsibility of all Flight Dynamics preparation activities for LEOP, Setup and deploy FDS software and operational tools and procedures, Participate to trainings, QT/QO and rehearsals, Execute operations, Be the direct interface of operational stakeholders (mission, ground segment, system engineer, architects, …), Ensure capitalization, and reporting.
Your profile
You are an Engineer, either a recent graduate or an early-career professional, with a strong background in technical fields related to Flight Dynamics, software development, and/or operations, and you possess the following skills: Proficiency in Space Flight Dynamics, General topics knowledge: space physics, estimation, optimisation, mathematical modeling, Algorithm Development: Ability to develop and implement algorithms from a functional perspective (mathematical and physical), Knowledge of the GEO and LEO context, Knowledge of Operational Software development,
