About the Job
Summary of Position: Help connect patients with the care they need through innovative telehealth technology. MedStar Health is seeking a compassionate, tech-savvy, and service-oriented Telehealth Technology Coordinator to support telehealth and connected-care programs across our hospitals. In this highly collaborative role, you will bring telehealth technology directly to the patient’s bedside, coordinate virtual visits, troubleshoot equipment, and help ensure a smooth experience for patients, families, providers, and care teams. Working under the direction of the MedStar Telehealth Innovation Center, you will partner closely with Nursing, providers, Patient Experience, Information Services, and hospital leadership to support efficient patient flow and expand access to virtual care. This position is required to float among MedStar Health hospitals based on coverage and operational needs. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Transport and set up telehealth equipment at the patient’s bedside to support virtual consultations, remote rounding, family video visits, interpreting services, remote patient monitoring enrollment, and other connected-care initiatives. Manage assigned telehealth platforms and coordinate patient flow while providing prompt, professional, and compassionate assistance to patients, families, providers, and hospital staff. Support the Telehealth Operations and Support Center by triaging calls, telehealth orders, and competing priorities. Partner with Information Services, Nursing Informatics, and other teams to track, troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize telehealth equipment and technology. Document visits and activities accurately and promptly, communicate updates to appropriate stakeholders, and follow established infection-control procedures when cleaning devices and entering or exiting patient isolation rooms. Collaborate with clinical and operational leaders to identify barriers, improve workflows, evaluate services, and implement enhancements that support patient safety, quality, accessibility, and an exceptional telehealth experience. Minimal Qualifications:
Education
High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree preferred. Relevant education and professional experience may be substituted in accordance with established requirements.
Experience
One to two years of experience in a clinical or customer-service environment required. Knowledge Skills and Abilities Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer-service skills. Knowledge of medical terminology. Comfortable learning, operating, and troubleshooting technology. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment while supporting multiple patients and clinicians. Strong critical-thinking, organization, prioritization, and problem-solving skills. Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and maintain close attention to detail. Comfortable using personal protective equipment and entering patient isolation rooms when required. Ability and willingness to travel between MedStar Health hospitals to provide coverage. This position has a hiring range of USD $20.57 - USD $36.27 /Hr.
