Summary The Group Manager is responsible for leading a portfolio of engineering teams, ensuring successful delivery, engineering excellence, people development, and operational and financial health across multiple customer engagements.   The role combines engineering leadership, technical understanding, delivery governance, and people leadership. The Group Manager should have a strong software engineering background and be technically credible across areas such as modern application development, cloud, DevOps, architecture practices, and emerging technologies such as AI. The role is not expected to be hands-on at an Architect level, but should be able to understand technical decisions, challenge risks and trade-offs, and guide Engineering Managers and technical leaders.

Lead multiple engineering teams and Engineering Managers, ensuring delivery quality, engineering excellence, and predictable outcomes. Provide technical leadership and guidance with a strong understanding of software engineering, architecture practices, cloud, and DevOps, without being expected to operate at an Architect level. Partner with Architects and Engineering Managers to identify technical risks, evaluate trade-offs, and ensure appropriate engineering standards and practices are followed. Drive adoption of modern engineering practices including automation, CI/CD, cloud-native development, platform engineering, observability, and AI-assisted engineering. Lead people development, capability building, hiring, succession planning, and development of strong engineering and technical leadership. Own delivery governance, customer relationships, escalations, resource planning, utilization, forecasting, and portfolio financial health. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, engineering productivity, reuse, automation, and adoption of emerging technologies. Partner with Service Line and Account leadership on strategic initiatives, customer growth, and engineering opportunities.
