Traffic Control Technicians will help control movement of vehicular traffic through construction projects by performing the following duties listed below. We are seeking reliable, safety-conscious, and detail-oriented Traffic Control Technicians / Flaggers to support utility construction and roadway projects throughout the Birmingham, Alabama area. Traffic Control Technicians play a critical role in maintaining safe and efficient work zones by setting up, monitoring, maintaining, operating, and removing temporary traffic control devices and systems. This position is responsible for helping ensure the safety of construction crews, motorists, pedestrians, and the general public while supporting the successful execution of field operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, professionalism, situational awareness, and teamwork in a fast-paced outdoor work environment.

This position requires performing a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, company policies and procedures and safety guidelines. Additional duties or job functions may be required as deemed necessary by management personnel to contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Set-up and maintain traffic control devices, installation and service work-zone signs, and lights. Set up and maintain assigned Maintenance of Traffic activity including and detours and lane closures. Coordinate services with the on-site client representative or officials. Load and unload equipment into and out of company trucks. Deliver / Pick-up equipment from customer jobsites. If approved driver is approved, they may operate a company vehicle and maintain company standards with Motor Vehicle Record.

Minimum High School Diploma/GED and be able to communicate clearly both written and verbally. Valid license and knowledge of local driving rules and regulations. Pass initial drug screening & background check. Maintain company standards post-employment for background checks, criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing.
