Standard Job Description WHAT WE'RE DOING Our team at Lockheed Martin, is dedicated to engineering, developing, and integrating new capabilities for the Missile Defense System that protects the United States and its allies. While we are part of a large organization, we operate within smaller, agile teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Our responsibilities include Sensor/Weapon Integration, Algorithm Development, User Interface Development, Automated Testing, Cyber Security, and enhancing critical missile defense technologies. THE WORK The Scrum Master / CAM is a hybrid servant‑leader role that drives Agile delivery while providing cost‑ and schedule‑accountability for multiple Control Accounts (CAs) and Work Packages (WPs) within the Modeling and Simulation Vistas program. The candidate will facilitate Scrum (and other Agile) practices for a cross‑functional software development team, remove impediments, coach on Agile values, and simultaneously manage earned‑value, budgeting, and risk reporting to ensure the program meets its technical, cost, and schedule commitments. Agile & Scrum Leadership • Facilitate Scrum events – daily stand‑ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint review, and retrospective. • Maintain Scrum artifacts – keep the Product Backlog, Sprint Backlog, and Increment transparent, current, and aligned with the program’s Work Breakdown Structure (WBS). Control Account Management (CAM) Duties • Establish and assess progress of multiple CAs and WPs against the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) using Agile planning data (e.g., Jira). • Earned‑value & cost management – develop, monitor, and forecast time‑phased budgets; apply Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques (BCWP, BCWS, ACWP, CPI, SPI) to evaluate performance. • Risk & opportunity management – identify, log, and communicate technical and financial risks; propose mitigation or exploitation strategies. Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and other Agile project‑management tools; familiarity with Earned Value Management software (e.g., Deltek, Primavera). Desired Skills Desired Skills & Competencies Cost Account Management: Experience in Cost Account Management or Earned Value Management for aerospace/defense programs. Agile expertise: Deep knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, and ability to tailor Agile practices to large, multi‑disciplinary programs. Earned‑value & budgeting: Hands‑on experience applying EVM metrics, developing Basis of Estimates, and managing time‑phased budgets. Leadership & facilitation: Strong facilitation, communication, conflict‑resolution, and coaching abilities; proven track record of leading teams through forming, storming, norming, and delivering value. Risk & opportunity management: Ability to identify, analyze, and communicate financial and technical risks; develop mitigation plans. Program coordination: Experience coordinating across multiple engineering disciplines and interfacing with senior program stakeholders. Self‑direction: Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and apply best practices without micromanagement. Certifications: SAFe Scrum Master, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), or Professional Scrum Master (PSM). AI prompting proficiency: Skilled at leveraging AI tools
