Principal System Debug Engineer THE ROLE: We are seeking an engineer to join our team that will thrive in a fast-paced work environment, using effective communication, problem-solving and prioritization skills. THE PERSON: We are looking for a disciplined and dynamic, senior level system debugger for Sever Validation to join our growing post-Si debug team supporting the next generation of AMD’s flagship server CPU & Instinct products . As a diligent l eader in Systems Design Engineering, you will drive balanced, scalable, and automated solutions to avail optimal debug throughput. In this high visibility position, you will be part of a leading team to innovate and improve AMD’s abilities to deliver the highest quality, industry leading technologies to market. Your technical leadership skills, validation and debug expertise will be necessary towards product development, definition, root cause and resolution. Your agility and collaborative approach will be essential to work with with System Validation & Engineering teams and other stakeholders (System Architects, IP design, SoC, FW, SW, manufacturing). This AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) team will look at this person to guide the team, mentor upcoming enigneers, provide long range strategy. The person should be willing to jump in to help resolve issues quickly. You will be involved in all aspects of validation & areas that impact the team including performance, automation, and development. The right candidate will be informed on the latest trends and become prepared to give consultative direction to senior management. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: A powerful desire to learn new skills and understand new features as they are added to project health of program. Proven record of accomplishment of working within and across groups / time-zones to resolve complex issues found during Silicon bring-up, post-Silicon validation and production phases of SoC programs. Develop and drive strategies to resolve issues on time with quality. Manage customer and executive communications including program status, risks and opportunities. Publish debug program indicators to identify major roadblocks and drive changes to overcome the same. Responsible for exploring opportunities to improve AMD capabilities & product quality by driving technical innovation in realm of tool development, AI and related cross functional initiatives. Work closely with other team members to understand design architecture and to propose solutions to resolve issues and improve debug-abilty.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and pronounced attention to details A thorough understanding of datacenter industry technologies and their software stack. Extensive experience in validation roles involving debugging OS/ Driver, FW, Silicon, Platform and other HW issues. Understanding of PC industry standard busses and their software stack, such as PCIe, CXL. Strong knowledge of System architecture, X86 architecture, SoC design, memory, RAS, Power management, or Reset Effective communication and coordination skills. Experience in technical program management. Must be a self-starter, and able to independently drive tasks to completion ACADEMIC
