The Commercial Analyst – Segment & Targeting will support the development of data-driven commercial strategy by identifying priority customer segments, sizing market opportunities, and uncovering growth potential across existing accounts and whitespace. This role will leverage external market data, industry reports, and competitor benchmarking to assess the Total Addressable Market vs current footprint and translate insights into actionable go-to-market recommendations. The analyst will also conduct regular capacity analysis of field resources and support recommendations and execution of target account changes based on capacity findings. In addition, this role will partner closely with cross-functional teams, including Marketing and Sales, to identify trends, performance gaps, and structural opportunities across sales, territory, and account performance; prepare clear dashboards and reports for leadership; and contribute to ongoing improvements in analytics quality, planning discipline, and commercial decision-making. Use external market data, industry reports, and competitor benchmarking to calculate and monitor the Total Addressable Market (TAM) versus current footprint. Identify, define, and refine customer segments using the AA Facial Segmentation framework. Analyze current accounts to determine untapped potential, whitespace opportunities, and growth priorities. Conduct regular capacity analysis of field resources to evaluate coverage, workload, and alignment to strategic priorities. Recommend and support execution of target account changes based on capacity analysis and business needs. Develop and support implementation of go-to-market strategies tailored to specific customer segments and business objectives. Collaborate with Marketing and Sales to align on target customer definitions, segmentation priorities, field execution, and effective omnichannel messaging. Translate market and customer insights into clear recommendations that inform commercial planning, resource allocation, and execution. Support ongoing performance tracking and optimization of segmentation, targeting, and field deployment initiatives. Prepare executive-ready summaries, presentations, and reports to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field. 3–7 years of relevant experience in commercial strategy, segmentation/targeting, business analytics, market research, or sales operations. Experience using external market data, industry reports, and competitor intelligence to size markets, assess opportunity, and inform strategy.
