Overview: The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a key component of the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to plan ballistic missile defense operations systematically, collectively monitor the battle, and dynamically control networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve global and regional mission goals. C2BMC supports layered missile defense capabilities that enable an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It serves as a force multiplier by networking, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations, both globally and regionally, to improve performance. C2BMC is essential for all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate the current and future capabilities of missile defense systems. We are seeking a Cloud DevOps Engineer to deploy, manage, and maintain large-scale on-premises cloud and hyperconverged infrastructure solutions that underpin C2BMC Global capabilities. The core focus of this role is lifecycle management of containerized environments and infrastructure automation. Essential Functions: In this role, you will: Deploy, maintain, and manage the lifecycle of on-premises cloud clusters using Nutanix and/or Red Hat OpenShift for mission-critical C2BMC Global environments Manage and scale enterprise Kubernetes clusters utilizing Nutanix Kubernetes Platform ( NKP ) and OpenShift , ensuring high availability, performance, and resilience Deploy applications, services, and middleware using Helm charts and Kubernetes Operators, supporting continuous delivery of new capabilities Utilize Ansible for extensive infrastructure automation and configuration management across virtualized and containerized environments Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and support infrastructure using GitLab , including the configuration and management of GitLab Runners Track and analyze the impact of events and changes on the underlying infrastructure, including proactive monitoring, patching, and maintenance of virtual machines, containers, and platform services Collaborate with system engineering, software development, cyber, and operations teams to integrate new capabilities and ensure secure, reliable, and efficient infrastructure Document designs, configuration baselines, automation playbooks, and operating procedures to
