The Qualcomm Automotive Team is seeking a SoC Linux software architect to contribute to the development of next-generation automotive solutions. As the SoC Linux Software architect, you will be responsible for comprehending software product requirements, use cases, and applications, and their correlation to specific hardware blocks or sub-systems. Your role will involve defining software architecture for system requirements and collaborating with hardware and software teams to develop world-class solutions. The objective is to deliver top-tier, next-generation solutions to automotive customers worldwide. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Ownership and leadership of Architecture / Design / Development Strategy. Provide technical leadership and decision making to the product software development teams for software systems related matters. Such as Linux platform arch and system for AI scenario. Work with other organizations across the company to develop unified SW architectures and define SW interfaces. Such as the Low power mode debugging framework across all submodules of the SoC. Designs and implements software sub-systems for complex, large-scale products and systems. Such as Linux kernel, boot loader arch and yocto conversion for Qualcomm Linux. Collaborate with internal and external team in the definition or selection of SW solutions. Review and support in Detailed Design. Make recommendations and decisions on the SW implementation. Interact with multiple technologists in the company and within the industry as well as between developers and project managers to evaluate feasibility of requirements and determine priorities for development. Drives industry best practices for software engineering including ASPICE, FuSa and Cybersecurity compliance. Availability in key meetings pertinent to the technical discussions Communication of the technical solution internally and externally when needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field. 10 years of software experience in embedded software development for ARM based systems At the BS level, a minimum of 10 years, at the MS level, 8 years and at the PhD level, 5 years of software architecture experience. SW Development background in Embedded Systems. Good C/C++, Rust etc. programming and analytic skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Proven track record as a software system architect in automotive projects. Depth of knowledge in at least one technology area is expected (e.g., Linux kernel, Android framework, Multimedia, Security, Virtualization, Performance, Stability, machine learning etc.) Self-driven and comfortable spanning software, hardware, system, and commercialization skills. High level of focus on ensuring very successful projects. Exposure to automotive SW development processes and standards (e.g., ASPICE, ISO26262 and ISO21434) Proven ability to identify and solve complex engineering problems. Ability to utilize both technical and leadership experience. Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
