Job Summary
This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of various types of heavy equipment in quarry environment. The Multi-Skilled Equipment Operator will demonstrate proficiency in operating loaders, excavators, haul trucks, and other equipment as needed to support quarry operations and achieve production goals. Essential Functions • Safely and efficiently operate a variety of equipment (front end loaders; excavators; haul trucks; dozers; graders) • Maintain precise control of each piece of equipment, adapting to varying terrain and weather conditions. • Perform pre-and post-trip inspections of all equipment operated, reporting any maintenance needs or safety concerns. • Load and unload materials, including raw materials, finished products, and waste materials. • Excavate and move earth, rock, and other materials as needed to support quarry operations. • Maintain haul roads and work areas, ensuring safe and efficient traffic flow. • Perform basic maintenance checks on all equipment operated. • Collaborate with maintenance teams for repairs and preventive maintenance. • Other duties as assigned. Ability to identify signs of equipment malfunction, understand and report them to the maintenance team. • Problem Solving- Identify, analyze, and resolve work-related issues efficiently and effectively using practical knowledge, experience, and hands-on skills. Finds practical solutions, implements fixes, and adapts to unexpected challenges. • Teamwork: Ability to effectively work as a part of a team, coordinating with other operators, dispatch/scale house and ground personnel. • Adaptability: Adapts to new conditions, is flexible and open-minded when facing challenges, and maintains high performance during change.
