Position Summary The General Manager will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for The Ritz-Carlton, Astana, ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction, employee engagement, brand excellence, and sustained financial performance. This executive leader will be responsible for driving all aspects of hotel operations, commercial strategy, and owner relations while cultivating a high-performance culture aligned with The Ritz-Carlton's Gold Standards. The ideal candidate is an accomplished luxury hospitality leader with a proven track record as a General Manager within a luxury or ultra-luxury environment and possesses the ability to inspire teams, elevate guest experiences, and maximize market share in a dynamic international setting.
Candidate Profile Required Experience
Minimum 5+ years' experience as a Hotel General Manager within a luxury or upper luxury hotel environment. Proven leadership experience with internationally recognized luxury brands. Strong record of delivering exceptional guest satisfaction and financial performance. Previous General Manager or senior executive experience with The Ritz-Carlton or similar Luxury Brands highly preferred.
Language Requirements
English required. Russian language skills are advantageous but not essential. Additional regional or international languages would be beneficial.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership
Lead the overall vision, strategy, and execution for the hotel. Drive sustained revenue growth, profitability, and asset value enhancement. Develop and implement business plans aligned with owner expectations, market conditions, and Marriott International objectives. Position the hotel as the leading luxury hospitality destination in Kazakhstan and the broader region.
Operational Excellence
Ensure flawless execution of The Ritz-Carlton brand standards across all departments. Deliver exceptional guest satisfaction and luxury service experiences. Monitor operational performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Foster a culture of service excellence, innovation, and accountability.
Commercial Leadership
Drive commercial performance across Rooms, Food & Beverage, Spa, Meetings & Events, and ancillary revenue streams. Partner with Sales, Marketing, Revenue Management, and Distribution teams to maximize market penetration and profitability. Leverage market intelligence and competitive analysis to optimize results. Maintain strong relationships with key corporate, diplomatic, government, and luxury travel partners.
