Laboratory Assistant

***$5,000 Sign-on Bonus*** M-F 10p-6:30a with rotational weekends Responsible for the collection of blood specimens ensuring patient safety and consistency with age-specific considerations for all patients, neonates, infants, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics as well as employees. Performs venous, capillary and infant heel sticks to ensure specimen integrity. Follows proper labeling protocols for specimen tubes/containers. Follows order of draw/collection. Performs clerical functions, processing duties, specimen receipt and distribution of laboratory specimens and training of students and employees. Performs phlebotomist duties as assigned. Must be knowledgeable of emergency procedures. Inputs and retrieves data from laboratory /hospital computer system.
