The Mueller Shipping Lead Person is responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily shipping operations to ensure the timely and accurate shipment of goods, both domestically and internationally, while maintaining compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards. This position reports to the Shipping Supervisor. This role is onsite and is based in St. Pauls, NC. Scope of Position The Mueller Shipping Lead is responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily shipping operations to ensure the timely and accurate shipment of goods, both domestically and internationally, while maintaining compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards. This position reports to the Shipping Supervisor. This role is onsite and is based in St. Pauls, NC. Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities Monitor and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Lead and coordinate daily shipping activities to meet production and delivery schedules Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently. Perform accurate inventory, invoicing, and other shipping transactions and reports in the ERP system. Conduct and lead daily Gemba walks and meetings to promote continuous improvement and team engagement. Ensure that all shipping documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner. Train and mentor shipping team members on procedures, safety, and best practices. Communicate effectively with internal departments and external carriers. Address and resolve shipping errors (e.g., missing items, incorrect addresses). Communicate with customer service or sales team as needed. Schedule pickup and delivery with carriers (FedEx, UPS, etc.). Review and prioritize shipping orders to improve on-time delivery (OTIF). Track daily shipments and resolve delays or issues to meet daily goals. Fill in for the Shipping Supervisor as needed, including decision-making and team oversight.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum 2+ years of experience in receiving, warehouse operations, or inventory control. Proven ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment. Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., QAD, SAP, Oracle, etc.) for inventory and receiving transactions. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures in a warehouse setting. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Understanding and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations and safety practices and procedures. Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
