Requisition #: 76756 The Role at a Glance
We are seeking a Lead Risk Management Analyst to join the Market Risk Governance team within Enterprise Financial Risk, part of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) organization in Lincoln’s Chief Risk and Actuarial Office. This team provides independent second-line oversight of Lincoln’s market risk. That includes product-driven exposures in our Variable Annuities (VAs), Registered Index-Linked Annuities (RILAs), Fixed Indexed Annuities (FIAs), Guaranteed Variable Universal Life (GVUL), and Indexed Universal Life (IUL), as well as market risk that comes from General Account investment strategy. Some of these risks are managed through hedge programs, others through reinsurance or other risk transfer, and the mix changes over time. We give leadership an independent read on whether the risk mitigation is working as intended, challenge strategy and methodology, and raise concerns early when results diverge from expectations. The team also leads enterprise scenario governance. You will partner with first-line hedging, actuarial, investments, and other risk teams. The ideal candidate will have strong quantitative skills, hands-on experience with derivatives and financial instruments, and the judgment to turn complex analysis into a clear point of view for senior stakeholders. What you'll be doing
•Build out independent market risk reporting such as liability attribution, performance attribution of hedge programs and other risk mitigation, hedge trading activity, and risk profile. •Review proposed changes to risk mitigation strategy (hedging, reinsurance, and other approaches), methodology, and parameters. Help prepare risk opinions that give leadership an independent view before decisions are made. •Analyze market risk across equity, interest rate, and volatility exposures, and provide insights to management on residual and emerging risks, performance metrics, and any deviations from established risk limits. •Help keep the market risk policy, limits, and governance documents current. •Prepare analysis and materials for market risk committees, framed to support decisions. •Work with other ERM teams where market risk meets liquidity, counterparty capacity, capital, and ALM. •Provide thought leadership on whether current risk mitigation approaches still fit as products, markets, and capital rules change. What we’re looking for
•Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or a related field. •Master’s degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM, FSA, CQF) is a plus. •5+ years of experience in market risk management, financial analysis, or a related field, preferably within the financial services or investment banking industry. Experience working in a second line market risk oversight role is a plus. •Solid understanding of capital markets, derivatives, and annuity and life insurance products. •Excellent quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. •Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex risk information to senior stakeholders. •High level of attention to detail, with the ability to identify and assess risks accurately and promptly. •Strong programming skills (Python, VBA, SQL, etc.) •Working knowledge of visualization software such as Tableau, PowerBI, etc. •Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). •Familiarity with statutory capital frameworks (e.g., RBC, VM-21) is a plus. •Ability to read,
