Role
Summary The Bioproduct Research and Development organization strives to deliver creative medicines to patients through the development and commercialization of insulins, monoclonal antibodies, novel therapeutic proteins, peptides, oligonucleotide therapies and gene therapy systems. This organization is a multidisciplinary group that works collaboratively with our discovery and manufacturing colleagues. Located in Indianapolis, scientists have full access to our scientific excellence and engineering capabilities. Do you enjoy downstream drug substance processes including purification and filtration of monoclonal antibodies, recombinant proteins, viral vectors, bioconjugates, and peptides? Do you have experience using automation and high-throughput screening to guide process development? As a Technician in the Purification Development group, you will work to execute efficient and effective downstream drug substance processes for new biologic candidates as they make their way from discovery to the clinic. Work responsibilities will vary, and you should be flexible and adaptable in accepting new challenges, guided by your supervision. The ability to troubleshoot issues as they occur, and to identify trends and opportunities to increase efficiency, are also key. The ability to exhibit a high level of attention to detail and a quality-minded approach to record keeping is crucial. Maintaining accurate records to provide detailed information on the execution of experiments will be a daily activity. This role requires effective interaction and communication of technical information with but not limited to Safety, Environmental, Purification Development colleagues, Tech Service/Manufacturing Science representatives, Operations, Engineering, Regulatory and Maintenance personnel. Especially important, in this role, is that you adhere to all safety and environmental guidelines and promote a proactive safety culture and environmental compliance in all areas.
Basic Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED Basic understanding of chromatography techniques Experience executing process tickets, following procedures and completing engineering protocols including the use of Microsoft Word and Excel. Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Additional Skills/Preferences: Ability to interact and build effective relationships with a wide range of groups including: HSE, Tech Services, Development Scientists, Operations, Automation, Engineering, and Maintenance. Minimum 2 years’ experience relevant to purification processing Associate’s degree in biotechnology preferred Experience operating process control systems (Symyx eLN, Unicorn, DeltaV) and using process historians (PI, Unicorn) General interpersonal and communication skills; coaching, feedback, training, and fostering an environment for learning and open/honest communication. High mechanical aptitude with basic analytical and problem-solving skills.
