As a Risk & Control Expert within PNC's Independent Risk organization, you will be based in New York City. The Senior Director, Integrated Risk Framework is responsible for leading transformation efforts to ensure a consistent, integrated, and sustainable approach to risk management across the organization. This leader will lead strategic rationalization efforts to simplify and strengthen the organization's risk and control environment. This role addresses a critical capability gap by providing dedicated leadership and expertise in core data design, governance, risk taxonomy management, controls rationalization, and enterprise-wide integration. The successful candidate will serve as a strategic thought partner to senior leadership, ensuring risk management practices remain efficient, scalable, data-driven, and aligned with regulatory expectations and business objectives. Key Responsibilities: • Lead enterprise rationalization initiatives across risk management artifacts and processes, including but not limited to: o Risk libraries and taxonomies o Control library • Monitor adherence to established standards and lead remediation efforts where gaps or inconsistencies exist. • Partner with business and risk stakeholders to drive adoption and continuous improvement of governance practices. • Identify opportunities to simplify, streamline, and eliminate redundancies while preserving effective risk coverage. • Design sustainable end-to-end processes that improve efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability of risk management activities. • Lead cross-functional initiatives to modernize and transform risk management capabilities. • Promote standardization and integration across risk programs and supporting technology solutions. • Ensure process design supports regulatory expectations, management reporting needs, and business objectives. • Build strong partnerships across Independent Risk Management, Corporate Functions, and Business Leadership. • Influence and align senior stakeholders around enterprise-wide framework decisions and governance expectations. Required Experience • 8+ years of experience in Enterprise Risk Management, Operational Risk, Governance, Controls, Compliance, Audit, or related disciplines. • Experience leading large-scale rationalization or simplification efforts involving controls, taxonomies, risk inventories, or governance processes. • Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional initiatives across complex organizations. Required Knowledge and Skills • Deep understanding of risk management principles, risk governance, controls, and regulatory expectations. • Strong business acumen with the ability to balance strategic objectives, risk considerations, and operational realities. • Expertise in process design, organizational effectiveness, and operating model development. • Strong analytical mindset with experience leveraging data and analytics to drive decision-making and continuous improvement. • Exceptional executive communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills. • Ability to navigate ambiguity and lead transformational change in a complex environment.
