Job Summary
As a Sanitation Technician is responsible for all activities involved in maintaining the cleanliness and food safe environment of the Packaging and Processing facility, surrounding areas and all equipment. This position requires adherence to safety and quality standards, as well as the ability to operate and maintain equipment. Due to the time-sensitive nature of manufacturing, overtime may be required based on business needs. Compliance with OSHA regulations, safety training, and proper use of protective equipment are mandatory. Basic Qualifications: ● Lift up to 20-50 lbs. repeatedly ● Commitment to company values (Be Kind, Be Constructive, Be Responsible, Blast Ahead) ● Dependability: personally responsible, completes work in a timely manner, and performs tasks accurately and efficiently. ● Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and effectively deal with tight deadlines ● Two or more years working in a manufacturing environment (sanitation) ● Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools ● Food manufacturing background preferred ● Support and knowledge of RCA (Root Cause Analysis) ● A high school diploma or equivalent. ● Ability to comprehend written instructions, draft clear documentation, and engage in verbal communication in English is essential for this role. ● Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow safety and quality protocols. ● Able to work in cold, refrigerated environment ● Able to stand during duration of shift ● Able to use tools to perform repetitive actions during duration of shift Preferred Qualifications: ● Must maintain a positive attitude and strong work energy ● Detail oriented ● Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills ● Experience in Sanitation ● Knowledge of 7 steps of sanitation Essential Job Functions: - Health & Safety Compliance ● Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe operating practices. ● Punctual and ready to work with all proper PPE/uniform and GMP. ● Taking breaks and meals breaks at the appropriate time and during working hours. ● Clean forklift , tools, and waste area equipment. ● Ex: lift-o-flex aka meat dumper, water cooler, door handles, sinks etc;. ● Scrub & sanitize floors ● Dry and wet cleaning of food contact surfaces/Tools. ● Provide relevant information regarding progress to supervisor/manager. ● Control and adjust the functions and settings of machines (e.g. flows). ● Load Broken wood pallets, IBC toes and cardboard bales for pick up. ● Train OJT fellow associates. ● Collecting trash around the facility. (Litter pick) ● Perform sanitation porter operations both automatic and manual. ● Refill Slip sheets , baling wire , shoes cover and gloves . ● Refill floor foamers. ● Communicating professionally through Google Chat. ● Assist warehouse and production with disposals - Quality Assurance ● Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and internal quality standards. ● Conduct quality checks on equipment and products to ensure specifications are met, escalating deviations as necessary. - Documentation & Reporting ● Record data of Sanitation cleanings, Maintain activity logs and attach identification ● Reporting all concerns to lead and supervisor - Communication & Coordination ● Communicate equipment status and escalate issues as needed.
