Job Description We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Network Engineer joining our Service Delivery organization as a resident engineer in an on-site role. In this position you will be responsible for supporting MX and Routing Director platforms in a large-scale service provider environment. The role will be assisting the customer with planning for network deployments, developing implementation plans, and performing testing of solutions. The work will be done in collaboration with a team of resident engineers, other internal organization team members, and the customer in support of these various responsibilities. You will develop deep product knowledge, acting as the customer’s primary point of contact in response to operational issues, engaging Juniper technical assistance Centers (JTAC) resolutions. This includes opening cases, providing requested data, advanced troubleshooting, and providing clearly written information and documentation as requested in support of these duties. US Citizenship required Responsibilities: Deep understanding of routing and switching technologies commonly implemented in data center networks including EVPN, Multicast, OSPF, BGP, RSVP, LDP, Pseudo wires, L2VPN, L3VPN, MPLS Traffic Engineering (TE), Routing Policies, and associated tunneling technologies (GRE, VXLAN, etc.). Juniper products to be supported: MX, Routing Director Knowledge and Skills: Engineering design, operational, and support experience in large scale ISP environment Mastery of topologies and methodologies for WAN transport methods Motivation, a self-starter that can take direction but also identify and engage in areas to improve network design and operation Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills Ability to prioritize work activity to achieve customer and account team goals Ability to effectively work under pressure with customer engineers and JTAC to resolve hardware and software issues and implement solutions Ability to effectively troubleshoot equipment and network problems & to open/track JTAC cases through to problem resolution Ability to effectively communicate case status updates and deliver root cause analysis Support informal and formal technology briefings and training sessions Desired Qualifications: Engineering Design/Architecture, Operational, and Support experience in a medium to large scale data center network Juniper and/or other vendor certifications a strong plus Automation and DevOps knowledge a plus Automation access methods: XML API, NETCONF, REST API, gRPC Python tools: RPCs, REST, PyEZ, ncclient Ansible: Playbooks and Jinja2 templates Automation scripts: Commit, Op, Event, or SNMP scripts; Python and SLAX #unitedstates Accessibility HPE is committed to creating an inclusive and accessible workplace and encourages applications from all qualified individuals, including those with disabilities.
