Job Description
DB Global Technology is Deutsche Bank’s technology centre in Central and Eastern Europe. DB Global Technology develops cutting-edge software applications for the Deutsche Bank’s global operations and represents a platform for highly skilled software engineers. The team members specialize in Software Application Development, IT Architecture, Quality Assurance and Testing, Functional/Business Analysis and Project Management. The L2 Application Support & Release engineer is a member of RTB team (run-the-bank) who helps in steering the production support activities for software applications and works closely with the Development, solution architecture and QA practices to ensure code and design integrity of the fixes (hot fixes, patches). (S)he is a pioneer in following internal DB Best Practices and Governance procedures and working closely with ITAOs and CTB colleagues to ensure traceability and maintainability of all production releases.
Responsibilities
Provide Level 2 support for technical infrastructure components and application issues including remediation (e.g. databases, middleware and user interfaces); Drive on different tech adoption initiatives (GCP, EXACC, TRC etc) Estimate time required to implement remediation actions which are under direct control of RTB; Support and contribute to all relevant documentation following DB internal Standards, Procedures and Guidelines; Conduct incident and problem management activities, including scheduled meetings with relevant groups; Prioritize and steer root cause analysis for application production incidents and deliver resolution packs. Perform detailed technology analyses to highlight weaknesses and make recommendations for improvement; Perform releases/DR [Disaster Recovery] exercises/application maintenance activities over weekends (usually once every 3 weeks there is a weekend activity required); Contribute with process/compliance enhancements related to support for technical infrastructure components (e.g. databases, middleware and user interfaces); Contribute to KPI definition in order to keep performance and identify trends; Application monitoring and performance tunning; Technical input for infra patching affecting the application stability (TRC); Helps with the integration of new features/regions to the DB support model. This includes managing and rolling out plans of team augmentation up to assuring homogenous knowledge within the team; Skills Previous production support experience, with can do mind-set, attitude and hands-on approach; Ability to analyze business requirements, defects and propose hot fixes; Good knowledge of Oracle database, LINUX/UNIX, shell scripting, CLOUD environment; Network connectivity troubleshooting; Ability to work effectively with senior IT and Business stakeholders; Exposure to multiple global locations with various cultures and practices; Understand IT project management - planning, delivery, resourcing, expectation management; Previous experience with Control M, Tomcat / WebLogic/ Apache/ Fabric/ Google Cloud, Kubernetes are highly desirable; Proficient communication and English language skills (written/verbal), ability to work effectively with senior IT and Business stakeholders; Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
