Standard Job Description The Work Selected candidate will be the First Line Manager for a team of Specialty Engineers with expertise in the following domains: Reliability, Maintainability, and Availability (RMA), and Integrated Logistics Support. Responsibilities include: • Owner/focal point for Specialty Engineering (SpE) program execution and proposal development. • Development of the reliability, safety, and maintainability roadmap aligned with program milestones and cost targets. • Coordinating employee work assignments, recruitment and hiring, training and career development, performance assessments, salary actions, and recognition/disciplinary actions. • Collaborating with other RMS Specialty Engineering leaders, program leadership, suppliers, and customer. • Establishing organizational vision, goals, and metrics to track performance. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. For positions that perform IT responsibilities, use E646, Systems Engr-IT. Basic Qualifications • Bachelors degree (or higher) in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, reliability engineering, safety engineering, systems engineering, or a related discipline with 7+ years of related experience. • Demonstrated Experience in one or more of following domains: Systems Engineering, Reliability and Maintainability, System Safety, or Integrated Logistics Support • Solid understanding of system engineering principles and practices • Experience with project life cycle, including requirements definition, design, development, integration, & verification. • Experience with proposals and cost estimating Desired Skills Prior leadership or management experience Knowledge with Vemo and staffing analysis Experience with Digital Transformation & Model Based Engineering. Understanding with EVMS and Cost Account Management (CAM) responsibilities Experience in establishing milestones and monitoring adherence to master plans and schedules.
