Working collaboratively with Psychiatrists, Physician Assistants, and the interdisciplinary treatment team, the NP conducts psychiatric assessments, diagnoses mental health conditions, develops and implements treatment plans, and manages psychotropic medications within the scope of licensure and privileging. The NP supports safe, evidence-based, and patient-centered care in compliance with medical staff bylaws, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards. Qualifications
Education: Doctorate as a DNP Nurse Practitioner or Master’s Degree as an APRN and completion of a post graduate program for psychiatric mental health nursing.
Experience
Preferably two or more years experience within a psychiatric setting. A minimum of two (2) years experience in working with in an inpatient setting is preferred. Licensure: Licensed to practice in the State of Utah as a DNP Nurse Practitioner or APRN. If medication privileges are exercised, prescriptive authority from the Board of Medical Examiners is required.
