Job Area: Legal Group, Legal Group > Legal Counsel General Summary: Qualcomm is seeking an attorney to join its in-house legal team in San Diego, with primary responsibility for drafting, negotiating, and managing commercial agreements that support Qualcomm’s broad range of businesses. This role will advise internal clients on customer and supplier transactions, distributor and channel relationships, contract lifecycle management, and related legal and business issues. The ideal candidate is a practical, business-oriented self-starter with strong drafting and negotiation skills, sound judgment, intellectual curiosity, and relevant technology and intellectual property experience. General Responsibilities Draft, review, negotiate, and manage commercial agreements across Qualcomm business units. Advise internal business teams on standard contracts, key commercial terms, and system-related questions regarding customer onboarding. Enable ongoing business opportunities through standard contracting while appropriately identifying and mitigating legal and business risk in negotiations. Support legal team members on cross-functional projects, including business unit initiatives and M&A-related activities as needed. Contribute to a collaborative team culture with flexibility, accountability, and willingness to support priorities of varying scope and complexity. This is an office-based position located in San Diego, CA and is expected to comply with the company's onsite work policy. This is a U.S. based position and is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Minimum Qualifications: • Juris Doctorate degree or international equivalent. • Active bar license or other lawful ability to practice law in the state or jurisdiction where the employee will be located (for example, ability to gain admission as registered in house counsel).
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of relevant experience as counsel at a top tier law firm or in-house. Experience with technology-based transactions. Intellectual property background and experience. Demonstrated ability to exercise sound legal judgment, work independently, and collaborate effectively with business and legal stakeholders.
