The Site Reliability Engineering team is hiring for a Linux Engineering intern: The Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team is responsible for performance tuning and capacity planning for multiple high performance, ultralow latency financial exchanges. The SRE team also provides operational support for these exchanges to maintain system availability and optimal performance. The SRE team works closely with Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Network Engineering teams to troubleshoot complex issues, to coordinate and support platform configuration updates, and to leverage new cutting-edge technologies. The SRE intern role is a great opportunity to learn about complex software systems and financial markets Your responsibilities and learning objectives will be: Provide technical support to sustain resiliency and high availability of financial exchanges Analyzing performance metrics and optimizing the latency of the exchanges Collaborating with Infrastructure/Development teams for technology upgrades and migrations Supporting Cboe’s Incident Management process to resolve and investigate technical issues Driving and implementing capacity planning decisions for Operations Developing, testing, and maintaining automation and monitoring tools The ideal candidate has: Currently pursuing in Bachelor’s degree or higher and should not be scheduled to graduate before December of the year in which the internship takes place. Desire to learn about technical operations for a financial exchange Advanced Linux command line knowledge High level of proficiency in Python and SQL Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills You’ll really stand out with: Ability to read and evaluate C++ (or similarly complex OO languages) Knowledge of stock and options trading Benefits and Perks Competitive compensation 2:1 401(k) match, up to 8% match immediately upon hire.
