Profile: An opportunity to be part of a Crisis Response and Intelligence team who manage major and severe business-impacting events and incidents, predominantly involving varying levels of business disruption, by coordinating real-time service restoration and actively managing risk. As a member of our pro-active, pragmatic, and energetic team, you will be in the unique position to interact with people and teams globally, across all levels of the Firm, and influence decisions that have a direct impact on operational stability.

Role

Profile: As a Crisis Response and Intelligence Associate, you will be responsible for conducting daily monitoring of the threat landscape in order to identify and provide early warning of emerging threats and events that may impact the Firm or financial sector. You will be responsible for assessing intelligence and generating proactive assessments of potential events which may require the engagement of stakeholders.  You will partner with the wider team to manage incident response, triage calls, and assess business impact, ensuring that all participating teams are focused on impact remediation and providing timely incident communications to relevant stakeholders.  The position requires a dynamic and adaptable approach during high-pressure situations, organizational / situational awareness, sound judgement, emotional intelligence, and strong analytical ability. The role does require periodic on call coverage during bank holidays and weekends on a rotational basis, typically once every 8-10 weeks, depending on team resourcing. What you'll do in the role: The team has access to social media monitoring tools, open-source, industry, and commercial intelligence feeds which are leveraged to generate relevant alerts for further triage, assessment, and escalation. A sample of events that the candidate would be responsible for monitoring and responding to include:  Physical & Geopolitical. Protests or demonstrations impacting Firm locations; Civil unrest in countries/locations with a Firm presence; Terrorist (or other violent) incidents impacting Firm locations; Significant geopolitical events that may impact the Firm or the financial sector; Significant weather events where Morgan Stanley offices are located; Novel or significant updates relating to pandemics or infectious diseases spreading in locations where Morgan Stanley operates or has a presence. Technology. Technology incidents impacting the financial sector or other critical infrastructure entities and major technology outages impacting payment infrastructure or stock exchanges.
