Training Supervisor

PURPOSE   This position supports the operations team by implementing and sustaining all training initiative within the DC’s operations. Training Leads will conduct business under the direction of the DC Training Supervisor.   KEY RELATIONSHIPS

Operations teams (Manufacturing and Distribution) Human Resources Business stakeholders New Hires Training Leads and Point Guards NAM Training Team

Create training plans and reporting on all operations process paths for team members as necessary within the Learning Management System. Including but not limited to 6S, Cross Training, Coaching. Create and Conduct New Hire Orientation (NEO) with support of HR and business partners. Work with managers to implement and enforce all OSHA, A-01, SEA or other compliance standards required as well as, warehouse rules/regulations especially those related to powered industrial trucks (PIT). Oversee, train and certify all personnel on the safe operation of equipment, including PIT. Partner with on-the-floor training leads to maintain the consistency and spirit of process training. Oversee Point Guards program (on-the-floor hands on operations trainers). Conduct train-the-trainer sessions and remediation training as needed. Facilitate courses and/or learning sessions for all associates and leadership as needed. Administrative tasks as needed: printing and organizing learning materials, tracking training sign-offs, etc. Conduct observation sessions and report results for training team. Maintain visibility on the operations floor to maintain process knowledge and identify gaps in skills, training approach, etc. Instruct, examine and issue certifications when needed. Support the creation and implementation of SOPs and One Point Lessons under the direction of the Sr Training Manager (dotted line) and Sr MGR of Operational Excellence. Ability to develop and share best practices with other DC Supervisors and be a champion of change and continuous improvement. Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Fluent in English, both oral and written. Spanish language skills are a plus. Ability to work flexible schedules/shifts as needed to support a 24 hour/day – 6 day/week operation. Demonstrated knowledge of handling heavy-duty PIT vehicles and strong safety awareness. Proven facilitation and presentation skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a large group of co-workers. Positive and enthusiastic approach. Ability to supervise in a fast-paced manufacturing and distribution environment while maintaining an eye for detail and accuracy. Self-motivated to prioritize, coordinate and complete projects within tight deadlines. Proficiency with MS Office (including Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint), Smartsheet and Warehouse Management Systems. Ability to analyze data.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS   While performing the duties of this job, the employee is:

regularly required to talk or hear; stand or walk; use fingers, hands and arms to feel, handle, grip, grasp, lift, push and pull for up to ten (10) hours/day. able to work in a warehouse environment. able to reliably attend work/scheduled hours. occasionally required to sit; bending, twisting, climb or balance; lift and carry items such as boxes weighing up to forty (40) pounds; and stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.

REQUISITE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

College degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing and/or distribution environment. At least 3 years of leadership experience supervising training teams in a fast-paced operational setting. Proven ability to lead, develop, and support training teams while driving operational excellence.
