Grow here. “Are you ready to join a team of flood risk specialists and shape the future of the Water Industry?” Our Water team is on the lookout for a passionate Senior Flood Modeller to join our dynamic and rapidly growing Water Business Line. This is your chance to help deliver high profile, influential projects across the UK and even further afield while working at the heart of one of the UK’s most ambitious and connected northern engineering hubs. In this role, you will be a senior technical resource that will guide our more junior staff and proactively aim to develop our offering to local authorities, water companies, private and public sector clients. Here’s what you’ll do: At AECOM, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality flood modelling and hydrology projects. Under general supervision, you will: Developing and checking hydraulic models (using packages to such as Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, Mike 11, Mike 21, HEC-RAS and ICM) to assist the design of Flood Alleviation Schemes, deliver Flood Risk Assessments and conduct reservoir flood studies. Develop water quality models (which could be physico-chemical, biological, bacterial, or chemical) using industry standard software e.g. e.g. MIKE, Delft3D, SIMCAT and / or ICM) Conceptualisation and scoping of modelling approaches, with consideration of the risks and opportunities in each. Undertaking and checking hydrological assessments including Flood Estimation Handbook, ReFH2 and WINFAP Lead and input into tenders ranging from innovative one-off projects to multimillion pound framework contracts. Mentor staff within the team to support their professional development Build relationships with clients and across other technical disciplines Keep up-to-date with developments in legislation and guidelines that may affect our services Use AECOM’s project management systems to deliver high-quality outputs to our clients in line with the agreed programme and budget Work closely with our clients and teams of engineers and technical specialists to help our clients deliver a wide range of fluvial, coastal, surface water or drainage flood risk management projects If you're passionate about innovation and turning bold ideas into reality, AECOM welcomes you.
