We are seeking a Health Informatics Manager to serve as a key member of Optum Advisory Services- Provider Technology Consulting team. In this role, you will be the primary project lead for implementing and optimizing clinical solutions. This role leads complex, concurrent initiatives, identifies workflow efficiencies, supports clinical governance, mentors team members, and partners with leadership to keep scope, timelines, resources, and outcomes aligned. Managers apply core project management principles while delivering exemplary client service that reinforces Optum's position as a center of excellence for technology consulting and EHR services. Our practice continues to grow our comprehensive health informatics services capability using the collective expertise of our clinical, consulting, delivery, technology, and operations teams. The Health Informatics team assists our clients both internal and external in their efforts to solve challenging issues while delivering excellent results. Primary Responsibilities
Lead implementation and optimization of clinical, EHR-integrated, and AI-enabled solutions, applying health informatics principles, clinical strategy, workflow redesign, governance input, provider training considerations, and adoption planning Develop and manage project plans, including scope, schedules, dependencies, resource assignments, staffing recommendations, risks, issues, milestones, and measurable outcomes Coordinate across clients, vendors, external partners, Optum teams, and executive sponsors to align expectations, facilitate communication, build consensus, and maintain solid stakeholder relationships from discovery through implementation Use data, industry trends, best practices, and clinician feedback to identify workflow and technology improvement opportunities, strengthen consulting methodologies, and address health IT adoption challenges Evaluate EHR-native, enterprise, ambient, and agentic AI capabilities; apply structured prioritization frameworks to define high-impact use cases, business cases, roadmaps, implementation specifications, gap analyses, success measures, and ROI expectations Document current-state clinical, revenue cycle, and administrative workflows and design future-state, AI-enabled workflows with human oversight, responsible AI practices, governance, compliance, and risk standards built in Partner with clinical, technical, operational, training, governance, and compliance teams to enhance products and services, develop evidence-based standards, create education materials, and implement service delivery models Serve as a credible client-facing advisor by leading working sessions, discovery interviews, executive readouts, and written and verbal communications with clinical, IT, operational, and business stakeholders Mentor informatics team members, diagnose stated and underlying client issues, recommend
