Crusher Supervisor

A Supervisor of Fixed Equipment Maintenance oversees and coordinates the maintenance and repair of fixed equipment within a facility or organization. They lead a team of maintenance technicians, schedule maintenance tasks, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and troubleshoot equipment issues to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency. Additionally, they may be responsible for training staff, ordering parts and supplies, and maintaining maintenance records. Essential Functions • Supervise Maintenance Team: Direct, schedule, and lead a team of fixed equipment maintenance technicians, assigning tasks, providing technical guidance, and managing shifts to cover operational needs. • Preventative and Predictive Maintenance (PM/PdM): Develop, implement, and monitor robust PM and PdM schedules for all fixed equipment, including crushers, screens, conveyors, feeders, washing systems, and structural components. • Troubleshooting and Repair: Respond to and diagnose complex mechanical and minor electrical failures on fixed plant equipment. Oversee and actively participate in corrective maintenance and emergency repairs to minimize downtime. • Work Order Management: Manage the maintenance backlog, prioritize work orders using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), and ensure all work is completed, documented, and closed out accurately. • Parts and Inventory: Collaborate with Procurement and the Maintenance Planner to manage spare parts inventory, ensuring critical spares are on hand while optimizing stock levels and reducing carrying costs. • Safety Leadership: Champion a strong safety culture. Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company safety standards (e.g., LOTO, confined space, hot work), MSHA regulations, and environmental requirements. • Training and Development: Conduct job hazard analyses (JHAs) and provide continuous on-the-job training and coaching to the maintenance team on safe work practices, technical skills, and equipment repair procedures. • Reliability Focus: Analyze equipment performance data (downtime, root cause analysis) to identify recurring issues and implement reliability improvements and modifications to fixed assets. • Capital Projects Support: Provide technical input and support for capital expenditure projects related to fixed asset upgrades, installations, and plant modifications. • Budget Management: Help manage the fixed maintenance budget by controlling labor costs, optimizing parts usage, and driving cost-effective repair strategies. Ensures that all projects/tasks are completed on schedule and within budget. • Technical Proficiency-Knowledge and skills in a specific field, gained through education, training, experience, and continuous learning.
