This role raises the architectural bar for Priceline’s Flights portfolio—building reliable, scalable, secure, and cost-effective foundations that enable rapid innovation across the flight journey. You’ll connect Product, Technology, Data, AI/ML, and third-party supplier capabilities to create seamless, high-performing flight experiences at scale. Your work will support today’s priorities while creating the architectural foundation for future innovation. You’ll operationalize data, measurement, and experimentation, using A/B testing, feature flags, and other modern capabilities to continuously improve the Flights experience. In this role, you will get to: Define and evolve the Flights target-state architecture aligned to Priceline’s long-term business and technology objectives, with a pragmatic, phased roadmap and clearly defined interim milestones. Design complex, distributed systems supporting flight search, shopping, pricing, availability, booking, and post-booking experiences that are reliable, scalable, secure, and cost-effective—grounded in explicit trade-offs and consistent with Priceline’s infrastructure and operations standards. Partner with Product and Technology leaders to design end-to-end Flights solutions across internal platforms, airline and supplier systems, and third-party technologies—defining integration patterns, API/data contracts, clear ownership boundaries, and SLAs. Champion engineering best practices across key domains, including software design, APIs, DevOps/CI/CD, QA, SRE/observability, cloud, data, AI/ML, security, and experimentation, partnering with domain experts to unlock innovation and operational efficiency. Drive AI/ML-driven capabilities across the flight journey — personalized search/shopping ranking, generative and agentic booking assistance, pricing and demand-forecasting models, and anomaly detection for booking/pricing failures — partnering with Data/AI and Product leaders. Partner with Flights business leaders, Product leaders, and Enterprise Architects to drive well-founded technology choices and ensure scalable, reusable, and platform-aligned architectural patterns across the portfolio. Evaluate emerging technologies, architectural patterns, and travel industry capabilities to shape strategic roadmaps—leading build/buy/partner analyses, proofs of concept, and TCO/ROI assessments to de-risk decisions. Define and evolve architecture supporting flight supplier integrations, content, pricing, availability, and distribution, ensuring solutions can scale as the Flights ecosystem and partner landscape evolve. Enable data-driven product development by establishing architectural patterns for analytics, experimentation, A/B testing, feature flags, and AI/ML capabilities across the Flights experience. Lead architecture governance, codifying standards and guardrails, managing technical debt, ensuring compliance, and minimizing architectural and operational risk. Coach senior and staff engineers, uplevel engineering and architectural practices, and cultivate a culture of clarity, simplicity, scalability, and continuous improvement across the Flights organization.
