Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. What you’ll do here: Team leadership & development: Coach and develop underwriters through day-to-day guidance, file reviews, feedback, and formal training plans which result in them being motivated towards success Collaborate with other team leaders to achieve goals and monitor progress against the department business plan and service standards. Lead regular team meetings to communicate priorities, operational updates, and gather feedback. Manage team performance by conducting performance reviews and career developing discussions Broker & market leadership: Own key broker relationships; maintain a regular rhythm of account planning, pipeline reviews, and performance updates. Strengthen broker portfolio performance and develop new opportunities. Lead negotiations on larger/complex accounts and provide escalation support to underwriters. Promote products and appetite through broker training, information sessions, and market-facing communication. Portfolio & profitability: Build and manage a profitable book of business aligned to product appetite and underwriting authority. Set and track portfolio performance targets and take action to improve results. Review/audit underwriting files and decisions to ensure adherence to guidelines, authority levels, and company standards.
