Job Description
We are on the lookout for a System Engineering Manager (M1) to lead our combined Server/Cloud Infrastructure and Network Infrastructure teams within ETS / Enterprise Infrastructure, on our journey to always deliver amazing experiences. In this role you will manage two squads — a Server/Cloud team (on-prem and cloud workloads for internal users) and a Network team (office infrastructure) — as the technical owner and people leader for both: People & Team Health: Own hiring, onboarding, 1:1s, feedback, and growth plans across both squads; build an inclusive environment and address performance issues directly. Business Partnership: Translate stakeholder needs (IT, Security, Workplace Experience) into roadmaps for both teams, and prioritize work by business impact. Delivery: Maintain visibility into both squads' work, resolve cross-team dependencies, manage stakeholders, and track delivery/reliability metrics Technical Strategy & Operations: Guide architecture and operational excellence across both on-prem/cloud and network infrastructure (Wi-Fi, SD-WAN, multi-vendor hardware); own end-to-end Change Management within a structured framework, ensure incident response, and SLA-bound vulnerability remediation for both domains. Citizenship: Share learnings across teams and foster collaboration between Server/Cloud, Network, and other domain teams. AI Adoption: Drive AI as the default method for config generation, automation, and troubleshooting across both squads; ensure safe, policy-compliant use of approved tools (especially with sensitive topology, credentials, and cloud configs); coach engineers to use AI critically, track adoption and address resistance, and tie AI-enabled gains to delivery metrics and cost.
Qualifications
Experience: 6+ years in infrastructure, systems, or network engineering, including at least 1–3 years in a people management or technical leadership role; prior experience managing or closely collaborating across both server/cloud and network functions is a plus. Technical Breadth: Working knowledge across on-prem and cloud server infrastructure (compute, storage, virtualization, major cloud providers) and enterprise networking (switching, routing, wireless, SD-WAN, firewalls). Multi-Vendor Exposure: Comfortable overseeing diverse hardware and platform environments (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Extreme Networks, Arista, Aruba, major cloud platforms) without needing to be the hands-on expert in every one. Change Governance: Experienced working within structured Change Control environments, reviewing technical plans, impact assessments, and rollback procedures. Security & Compliance: Understanding of security fundamentals across infrastructure and network layers, including vulnerability management and SLA-driven remediation. People Leadership: Track record of running effective 1:1s, performance reviews, and hiring processes; experience building team structure and growth plans. Certifications (nice to have): CCNP, PCNSE, cloud platform certifications (AWS/Azure/GCP), or equivalent.
