Role Summary: Under general direction, acts as a technical expert who consults on highly complex projects. Responsible for the analysis, development and execution of complex software and data solutions, to manage the information lifecycle needs of the organization. Develops, models, constructs, tests and maintains applications and data architectures for data collection, database, analytical/reporting, or data science systems. Establishes and builds data systems including providing standards, policies, practice, procedures, governance and quality assurance for data deliverables. Recommends methods to improve data reliability, quality, and efficiency. Devises or modifies procedures to solve technical problems. Leads and directs the work of team members. May mentor junior team members.
The Portfolio Principal Engineer (PPE) role within the DAE BDSE Digital, Customer and Service data delivery portfolio is the technical leader who collaborates with various domain stakeholders, engineering teams, and leadership to ensure that the teams have the necessary support and expertise to deliver maximum business value to our customers.
Functionally, the PPE reports to the Portfolio Engineering Director and coordinates with TTT as needed for cross portfolio solutioning. The PPE’s time will be spent working with the engineering teams, leadership, and stakeholders directly – while collaborating with TTT on department wide best practices and solutions, providing feedback on technical proposals and initiatives, and operating within an autonomous Kanban model.
