Job Description
U.S. Bank is seeking the position of Software Engineer – Mainframe Developer (multiple positions) in Charlotte, NC.
Essential Responsibilities
Develop and maintain batch processing programs to analyze and distribute Magnetic Ink Character Recognition (MICR) item data within the Check Systems application. Diagnose and resolve issues using systematic debugging techniques and a range of incident detection tools. Conduct program reviews to assess changes, testing coverage, vulnerabilities, and alignment with business logic and architectural standards. Create and optimize job control language (JCL) procedures for batch processing, file management, and data transfers between subsystems.
Basic Qualifications
Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering and 3 years of Software Engineer/Developer experience. Required Skills/Experience: Must have at least 3 years with SQL, DB2, COBOL, JCL, VSAM, CICS, Endevor, CA-7, IDE, Visual Studio, IntelliJ. May be subject to background checks.
