Position
Summary The Material Specialist position is responsible for executing day-to-day activities in support of warehouse operations including, but not limited to, inventory control, issues, receiving, transfers, chemical inventory and, if applicable, equipment and tools. Assuring inventory accuracy is a critical aspect of the position which includes physical inventory and chemical inventory processes. The job activity ensures the safe movement and handling of required parts and maintenance materials into and out of Duke Energy Facilities. The successful Materials Specialist candidate ensures work priorities are established and adhered to for those activities associated with material handling processes and systems. The Material Specialist will have excellent communication skills and is expected to work effectively with staff to prioritize, schedule and implement activities related with day-to-day operations. The Material Specialist will be a self-starter and customer-driven to support the supply chain organization. Also required is the ability to learn new processes and systems within Supply Chain operations including MAXIMO and EMAX applications. This person will be responsible for maintaining excellent communications and relationships with supply chain site procurement and site operations to ensure the efficient flow of commodities in and out of Duke Energy Facilities.
Responsibilities
All day-to-day activities regarding warehouse operations including inventory control, issues, receiving, transfers, chemical inventory and the equipment and tools lifting program Ensures inventory accuracy, which includes physical inventory and chemical inventory processes Ensures the safe movement and handling of required parts and maintenance materials into and out of the facilities Ensures work priorities are established and adhered to for activities associated with material handling processes and systems Works with members of the stations staff to prioritize, schedule and implement activities related with day-to-day operations and maintenance activities within the facility Focus on customer service to support the supply chain organization and the internal customer groups Works with new processes and systems within Supply Chain operations, i.e., MAXIMO and other supply chain mobile applications Maintains excellent communications with supply chain site procurement and site operations to ensure the efficient flow of commodities in and out of site inventories Note: This posting is for one position. Required/Basic Qualifications (Materials Specialist II) High School/GED degree 2 years related work experience Required/Basic Qualifications (Materials Specialist III) High School/GED degree 2 years related work experience with 5 years preferred work experience Preferred Qualifications Warehouse experience Self-motivated and able to work productively with some direct supervision Experience in interacting with a diverse range of contacts, including managers, non-managers, and external customers.
