Job Summary
The Staff Supplier Project Engineer is a key member of the Supplier Engineering group, which is part of Insulet’s Supply Chain organization. Insulet manages a global supply chain and sources precision components and commodities from around the world for use in its devices. The Staff Supplier Project Engineer leads cross functional teams including with peers and leaders in R&D , Management, Quality, Sourcing and Manufacturing to implement new capital tooling and equipment at suppliers, to carry out new product introductions, execute internal cross functional and supplier improvement projects, resolve business-critical technical issues, and investigate and lead corrective actions in response to quality issues across the supply base. Staff Supplier Project Engineers lead multiple projects at one time so the ability to organize one’s own time is a must. As a growing company, project progress must be documented in a standard way so that team members can support each other during vacations and other critical times. They would be expected to not only learn and follow standardized documentation but also to originate and support initiatives to improve the standardization of all projects at Insulet as well as act as a resource for more less experienced. Although we strive for standardization, there are often complex situations that require new perspectives to achieve the best outcomes. They would be expected to identify solutions and work through or improve existing processes to implement those solutions. The ideal candidate has project management experience leading teams including suppliers of custom precision components for use in medical devices. Candidates should enjoy the factory setting and be comfortable interfacing with and influencing supplier personnel ranging from shop floor operators to leadership. 

 Responsibilities : Lead, manage and implement supplier capital tool qualifications from kick-off to implementation into production Manage projects within Smartsheet to articulate on time, at risk etc Work with R+D design team for Design for manufacturability analysis Generate or review supplier validation/qualification protocols and coordinate their execution and final reporting Travel to suppliers to lead capital qualification projects Lead teams responsible for the procurement and installation of manufacturing equipment at global suppliers Maintain updated documentation of project status, actions, risks, issues and decisions Identify and implement documentation standardization improvements All other duties as assigned Education and Experience:
Minimum Requirements
BS Engineering Degree (Plastics, Mechanical, Manufacturing/Industrial) or related field Preferred Skills and Competencies: PMI Project Management Certification a plus 10 y ears’ experience directly working with manufacturing processes such as molding, stamping , electronics or machining Worked in a direct material supplier as an engineer or project manager Ability to manage multiple supplier tooling projects concept to production, including the authoring and oversight of IQ/OQ/PQ protocols for component manufacturing processes and secondary operations PFMEA . Control plan, Measurement System Analysis expertise Excellent written and verbal communication skills Working knowledge of MS Office Working knowledge of Project Management tools including SmartSheet or Excel Six Sigma Process Improvement Experience/Certification Regulated industry experience Outstanding team player who seeks and values diverse input to hone ideas, but who has the experience to develop strong starting proposals Highly motivated, self-starter Appreciates the value of timelines and enjoys working in the focused environment that they create Physical Requirements: T ravel 25 % of the
