Nelson Stud Welding is seeking a highly organized and execution-focused Material Flow Coordinator to support continuous material flow across manufacturing operations, reduce past due orders, and eliminate delays between process steps. This role is responsible for coordinating material readiness, work-order flow, and cross-functional recovery actions to improve on-time delivery and reduce non-value-added waiting time between operations. The Job The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment and a strong understanding of material coordination, production flow, inventory accuracy, and shortage resolution. This position requires close collaboration with planning, procurement, warehouse, production, quality, and shipping teams to ensure materials and jobs move through the plant in the right sequence and at the right time. Coordinate material movement and work-order readiness to support continuous production flow. Monitor and prioritize past due and at-risk customer orders. Develop and manage recovery actions for overdue orders to improve delivery performance. Identify and remove barriers that create waiting time, queue time, or idle time between operations. Ensure materials, components, and subassemblies are available and staged in alignment with production priorities. Review and resolve shortages, blocked work orders, and inventory discrepancies affecting order flow. Partner with procurement to expedite critical purchased parts and confirm supplier commitments. Work with warehouse and inventory control teams to resolve material location and transaction issues. Support production teams by improving handoffs between upstream and downstream operations. Participate in daily reviews of shortages, bottlenecks, and backlog recovery priorities. Escalate unresolved material or flow constraints that threaten customer delivery. Maintain accurate status tracking for critical orders, shortages, and recovery actions. Identify recurring causes of backlog, material disruption, and inter-operation delay and support corrective actions. Contribute to process improvements that strengthen continuous flow and reduce avoidable downtime. The Person Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered. Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing, materials coordination, production control, planning, logistics, or supply chain operations. Experience working in an ERP/MRP-driven manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of material flow, inventory control, and production support processes. Ability to coordinate across multiple departments and sites in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
