A Day in the Life The Principal IT Project Lead - Supply Chain Planning is responsible for leading strategic, cross-functional technology and transformation initiatives that advance global supply chain planning capabilities. This role partners closely with business and IT leadership to shape roadmaps, govern complex programs, drive delivery excellence, and ensure measurable value realization across planning, manufacturing, procurement, and operations functions. The position requires strong portfolio leadership, executive influence, business acumen, and the ability to translate enterprise priorities into scalable digital solutions that improve planning effectiveness, operational efficiency, and decision-making. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. Strategic Leadership Drive the initiatives in Supply Chain Planning initiatives spanning Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Inventory Management, Manufacturing Planning, and Supply Chain Digital Transformation. Partner with business leadership to develop strategic roadmaps aligned with enterprise priorities and operational objectives. Drive project prioritization, investment planning, and value realization to maximize business impact. Ensure alignment of project execution with organizational goals, technology strategies, and operational needs. Program Governance & Delivery Excellence Provide governance and oversight across multiple cross-functional programs and projects. Establish and maintain program governance frameworks, operating rhythms, and executive reporting mechanisms. Drive proactive management of risks, dependencies, resource constraints, and delivery commitments. Ensure portfolio health, data quality, and adherence to enterprise project management standards and processes, including portfolio management tools and governance platforms. Business Partnership & Transformation Leadership Serve as a trusted advisor to Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Planning, Procurement, and Operations leaders. Lead business transformation initiatives enabled through technology, automation, analytics, and AI capabilities. Facilitate alignment across business functions, technology teams, and external partners to achieve strategic outcomes. Champion adoption of innovative digital solutions that improve planning effectiveness, operational efficiency, and decision-making. Financial & Benefits Management Develop business cases, funding proposals, and investment recommendations for strategic initiatives. Manage portfolio financial performance, including budget planning, forecasting, and benefits realization. Measure and communicate business outcomes through key performance indicators and value realization metrics. Support executive decision-making through portfolio insights, analytics, and risk assessments. Stakeholder Engagement & Influence Influence senior business and IT leaders without direct authority to achieve enterprise objectives. Facilitate executive steering committees and governance forums. Communicate portfolio strategy, progress, risks, and opportunities to leadership audiences. Build strong partnerships across global teams to drive transparency, accountability, and collaboration. Organizational Capability Development Contribute to continuous improvement of project, program, and portfolio management practices. Mentor project managers and emerging leaders across the organization. Promote best practices in governance, portfolio management, delivery excellence, and strategic planning.
