Position
Overview The Logistics Specialist is responsible for executing a variety of warehouse operations within a lean manufacturing setting. Key responsibilities include receiving and returning materials, order picking, inventory management, and shipping finished goods. This role demands a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to delivering quality products that meet customer expectations. Key Responsibilities · Perform all tasks in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and regulatory standards, including current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) · Operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts safely and efficiently · Handle and transport hazardous materials in accordance with DOT regulations and internal procedures · Execute material movements and transactions using SAP · Load/unload trucks and containers; transport materials using forklifts and transfer trucks · Organize and store materials in designated locations · Pick, deliver, and return materials for production orders · Prepare shipments and manage parcel deliveries (e.g., FedEx, UPS) · Cross-train in shipping and receiving functions as needed · Collaborate with internal departments such as Production, Quality, and EHS · Conduct self-audits and participate in inspections · Engage in team initiatives including safety programs, Kaizen events, and process improvement efforts · Support warehouse scheduling and operational objectives Required Qualifications · High school diploma or GED · Ability to obtain certifications including Forklift, Hazmat, and DOT · Proficiency in basic math, reading comprehension, and written communication · Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and general computer usage · Strong organizational skills and ability to follow detailed instructions · Positive attitude and effective interpersonal communication skills Preferred Qualifications · Experience with CGMPs and production practices · Working knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems · Reliable transportation and strong attendance record · Background in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., 5S, PDCA) · Ability to train others on SOPs and operational procedures · Valid driver's license and applicable certifications Physical & Work Environment Requirements · Ability to routinely lift 20 -50 lbs. · Extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking · Operation of warehouse equipment including pallet jacks and forklifts · Flexibility to work varied hours and overtime as needed · Manual dexterity and ability to meet production pace standards · Colleague will work in a facility that manufactures Cephalosporins and must not be Cephalosporin sensitive. · Work near moving mechanical parts and in varying temperature conditions (indoor/outdoor) · Occasional off-site support may be required This position is an AM Weekend Shift working 0500 -1730 Friday/Saturday/Sunday.
