Standard Job Description Directs the architecting and designing of Radio Frequency systems and circuitry. Coordinates subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Manages the design and development of RF circuitry used in high frequency and microwave applications, including receivers, transmitters, antennas, and frequency synthesizers. Leads the staff responsible for hardware layout, component evaluation, prototype construction, and test. Oversees the preparation of the following: test methods and specifications; analysis and testing of RF hardware to verify performance characteristics. Provides inputs to Product Development for formal documentation and supports manufacturing during the deliverable assembly and test phase. Manages the development of RF System/Subsystem Architectures consisting of: antennas, transmitters, receivers, low noise amplifiers, high power amplifiers, RF conversion elements and transmission line equipment. Coordinates link analysis and optimization, including effects of propagation medium and possible interference sources. Manages the development and allocation of RF system and subsystem functional and performance requirements. Oversees the identification and tracking of RF technical performance measurements (TPMs). Monitors RF system/subsystem/component trade studies and CAIV analysis. Supports Life Cycle Costs, reliability, availability, and maintainability analysis. What You Will Be Doing
RF Engineering Managers are responsible for: Functional management of the RF Engineering team, guiding staff selection, development, work assignments and performance. Driving the development and production of complex multi-function modules in all phases of the product life cycle Designing and developing circuits, modules, and sub-systems from initial concept through prototyping and full rate production. Leading investigations to understand complex RF problems and providing innovative and ingenious solutions Acting independently to uncover and resolve issues associated with the implementation of operational products Mentoring less experienced engineers on our team and collaborating with other engineering disciplines, including hardware engineers, systems engineers, and circuit design engineers Contributing to or authoring proposals and participating in business capture efforts.
