Join us and help shape the future of aerospace and defense. Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Senior Principal Enginee r to join our Mechanical Systems, Externals, & Nacelles (MSEN) organization. In this role, you will serve as the technical authority for our engine lubrication system, providing technical leadership across requirements, system modeling, validation, risk retirement, and the development of a small engineering team.
What You Will Do
Lead system-level requirements, interfaces, and performance assessments for engine lubrication systems, coordinating with analysis teams, component owners, and customers to allocate requirements, resolve interfaces, and maintain system compliance throughout the development lifecycle. Develop, execute, and validate steady-state and transient fluid-flow system models using Dymola, Easy5, MATLAB, Simulink, or comparable tools to evaluate system performance, support design decisions, and resolve technical issues across development and in-service engine programs. Lead a small technical team through the development and validation of new or upgraded lubrication systems, coordinating technical activities, design reviews, engine/test-rig validation, data analysis, and delivery of results in support of program milestones. Lead system-level risk identification, root-cause investigations, and technical problem resolution by analyzing engine and test data, executing system models, communicating findings, and driving mitigation strategies to closure. Serve as a senior technical authority and mentor by guiding engineers, improving analytical tools and methods, managing system status to requirements, and presenting technical findings and recommendations to engineering leadership, customers, and cross-functional teams.

What You Will Learn
Gain advanced experience in engine lubrication system architecture, requirements management, and system integration. Develop expertise in fluid-flow system modeling and simulation using Dymola, Easy5, MATLAB, and Simulink. Gain experience with engine and test-rig validation, test-data analysis, model correlation, and technical reporting. Strengthen technical leadership, mentoring, risk management, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Qualifications
You Must Have: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field and 10 years of relevant engineering experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and 7 years of relevant engineering experience.
