Job Description
At Regions, the Credit Products Flood Insurance Specialist will be responsible for assessing and validating Make, Increase, Renewal or Extension (MIRE) events in the Corporate Banking Group for adequate flood insurance in accordance with the Flood Disaster Protection Act (FDPA). Each event is reviewed for completion and accuracy of flood due diligence in a fast pace, regulatory and compliance-focused, production environment.
Primary Responsibilities
Manages and completes flood due diligence items in a timely and accurate manner Works with system of record to ensure accuracy Obtains and evaluates all relevant information used in completing Flood Zone Determinations Calculates and determines adequate flood insurance coverage requirements Validates proper life of loan monitoring is in place for correct client Acts as the main point of contact on flood insurance and coverage requirements Evaluates claim research performed in response to borrower submissions by following established processes and procedures and includes reviews of client histories, imaged documents and information available from systems of record and other sources Serves as an emerging subject matter expert on flood regulations Establishes partnership with line of business associates and consults on issues related to flood regulations Conducts research of laws and regulation that impact the business May work on basic projects with assistance and oversight of senior staff This position requires the tracking of time and is eligible for overtime for hours worked in excess of 40 per week under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED Five (5) years of related loan documentation and processing experience Proficient knowledge of flood insurance requirements Preferences Bachelor’s Degree Previous experience working with flood insurance in accordance with the Flood Disaster Protection Act (FDPA) Skills and Competencies Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize work Detail oriented Good analytical and problem-solving skills Good organizational and communication skills Knowledge of flood compliance guidelines and regulations Knowledge or sales contracts, appraisals, and applications Strong knowledge of the business Position can be filled at a higher level based on candidate's relevant skills and experience.
