The Opportunity
Direct accountability for EHS performance throughout Division. Provide indirect management of Global, Divisional EHS plant personnel and coordination of all EHS for Division world wide. Actively partner with Division Operations to ensure regulatory compliance, and consistent, effective EHS program implementation throughout Division Operations worldwide. Partner with EHS&E Corporate Regional Support to provide consistent, effective EHS service to facilitate program implementation throughout Division Operations worldwide. Responsible for successful completion of regulatory EHS inspections within all global Division plants. Contribute to the development of a global EHS vision and strategy; implement action to comply with established governance system processes, and metrics. Direct the implementation of tools and processes that enable the consistent application of Abbott's EHS global policies, programs, and systems within Global Division Operations What You’ll Work On Establish effective service level agreements with Corporate EHS&E Regional Support for Division Ops as appropriate. Lead the development and implementation of Global Division’s position on EHS emerging issues. Interface with regulators, agencies, and trade organizations to influence direction of regulations, requirements, and performance expectations. Collaborate with Abbott EHS leaders to understand trends, issues, and business impacts. communicate to internal Division stakeholders on issues, solutions, and implications to the business. Provide Division business perspective and tactical direction to collaboratively develop and implement the EHS strategic plan. Keep current on emerging technologies and regulatory issues that may impact the business. provide innovative, achievable, and practical solutions to Division Operations. Understand regional and global business drivers/regulations. balance priorities and resources to meet needs locally while being consistent with the EHS global charter. Staff, retain, and develop qualified, regional and plant Division EHS positions to ensure compliance and program needs met.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree required; preferred field of study in EHS or related Minimum 12 years of related experience Extensive technical expertise in EHS and plant-level EHS experience required. Managerial experience required, leading a staff of senior level professionals. Division or Corporate management experience required. Division Operations experience preferred. International experience preferred. Team leadership experience involving cross-divisional and cross-functional participants is required.
