AML Compliance Investigations Team Lead

Trust from all stakeholders is a key enabling factor to make Adyen successful in the long term. To achieve this, Adyen has organized a mature Second Line function that partners with the business to cut through financial crime risk complexities and power sustainable growth. Our Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Compliance team and framework are at the core of this.

Within the global AML Compliance team, we are looking for an experienced professional located in Amsterdam and with a proven track record in AML Compliance. They will be leading the AML Compliance Investigations team, which is conducting Second Line AML Investigations and is responsible for the submission of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) to multiple local Financial Intelligence Units (FIUs).

The mandate is to further grow this team of talented investigators, and develop beyond investigations into the proactive maintenance of SAR program oversight, managing local nuances, FIU contacts, and providing the rest of the Adyen organization insights into SAR trends and management reporting. So: this is not an operational role managing the status quo, but on top of this enabling Adyen to grow in a compliant manner.

• Lead a team of AML Compliance investigators assisting First Line AML and Fraud operations in performing AML investigations, and responsible for submitting SAR reports to local FIUs;

• Maintain and continuously improve the SAR program to ensure that all local regulatory FIU reporting requirements are met in consistent and scalable way;

• Drive strategic transformation and collaborate with First Line AML and Fraud operations teams to increase efficiency of the end-to-end AML investigations process;

• Develop and deliver reporting and knowledge products on Financial Crime trends as observed by the AML Compliance Investigations teams;

• Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including local FIUs and relevant regulatory bodies;

• Enable control testing and periodic internal audit on core SAR reporting processes;

• As HR responsible leader for your team: coach and mentor fellow members of the team to support them in their personal and professional growth.

• A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in AML Compliance;

• Minimum of 2 years team lead / managerial experience;

• Your knowledge of the EU AML/CFT regulatory landscape and best practices is well established, preferably in a recent comparable role in financial institution;

• You have a proven track record in developing or advising on Transaction Monitoring and Suspicious Activity Reporting frameworks, preferably in multiple jurisdictions;

• You have excellent organizational skills and know how to manage a project from conception to launch;
