About the Role : Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a full-time Guidance, Navigation, and Control Engineer. In this role, the candidate will perform duties of mission analysis, flight dynamics, test analysis support, requirements verification, and system design. The candidate will develop solutions to complex technical problems while ensuring sound technical content and timely resolution. The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of flight dynamics, inertial measurement units, navigation basics, trajectory simulation techniques, Kalman filter development, as well as utilizing MATLAB for data analysis. Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. Successful applicants will generally possess minimal or junior level related work experience, if any, and may have a post-secondary degree or training in a related discipline. Designs, develops, implements, verifies and tests algorithms to perform guidance, navigation and control of aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicles and upper stages during powered and coast phases of flight, earth orbit, interplanetary cruise and orbital insertion, as well as during staging events. Navigation functions include the statistical processing of measured data points and their substitution into algorithms simulating physical reality. Guidance functions include the formulation of specific equations and control laws to achieve a desired position in space. Control design and analyses processes consist of the development of the control requirements for aircraft, launch vehicles and/or spacecraft. Basic Qualifications Basic Qualifications :

Requirements : • Demonstrated experience using MATLAB and/or Simulink for modeling and simulation • Experience in performing test data processing and analysis • Demonstrated experience with and/or knowledge of flight dynamics and/or navigation systems Security Clearance / Work Authorization: • To meet requirements of the program/customer, this position requires the selected employee to be a U.S. Citizen. • Although not required for consideration, applicants must be able to obtain a Secret clearance prior to start. • Selected candidates will be required to maintain a minimum level, government issued Secret clearance, for long term employment on this program. Desired Skills Experience with or knowledge of navigation systems and inertial measurement units Demonstrated experience with or knowledge of Kalman filter design Knowledge of Fortran, C++, or a different compiled computing language Experience with Git/Gitlab and/or other software configuration management tools Experience in hypersonic vehicle design and reentry vehicle systems Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with team members Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment Excellent written and verbal
