Perform simple repair work to clean, check, inspect, repair, maintain, and install station equipment and apparatus.

GENERAL DUTIES   The normal duties may include but are not limited to:     Employee will be knowledgeable of and  follow  all  safety  rules, procedures and practices. Employee acting in conjunction with supervision or individually as directed  by supervision must be willing to direct the training of other employees in the correct operating procedures  necessary  to fully  satisfy  the  classification  duties  of  Mechanical Repair Helper or other duties with which the employees is familiar. Employee will, when directed by supervision,  report  to  assigned locations  for the purpose of receiving training and will actively participate in the training activities. Employee  will  carry  out  assignments  in  training  for  and/or performing fire fighting and first aid. Employee will exhibit an adequate competency level  pertaining  to activities delineated in the Duties and Qualifications sections of this  job  classification. Demonstrate such competency via performance  of  job  duties  and  training  and  testing programs administered  at  intervals  prescribed  by  Louisville  Gas and Electric to assure correct classification of employees. Employee will, during the normal performance of his duties,  watch for  and  promptly  report to supervision any damaged or defective equipment or conditions which may cause damage or injury. Employee will perform duties of lower  or  higher  classifications that are incidental to the job and are within his/her capabilities including  those  needed  for  the  purpose  of  training  in  the requirements of the higher classifications. Employee will keep all equipment, tools, materials and work  areas in a clean and orderly condition. Employee will report as directed to any  facility  for  any  shift where needed. Employee will perform work in a responsible and cooperative manner to facilitate a positive working environment. Employee will compile information and generate reports, forms  and documents as required. Employee  will  represent  the  Company  to  the  community with attention  to  the  highest  standard  of  conduct, appearance and attitude. Employee will be loyal to the Company and  support  its  policies, procedures and objectives.     SPECIFIC DUTIES   Duties which may include but are not limited to:   Employee will perform  simple  work  to  check,  inspect,  repair, maintain and install station equipment and apparatus. Employee will assist employees of higher classification and supply them  with  the necessary tools, equipment and material;  and upon completion of the job assist in gathering  up  and  returning  all such  tools,  equipment,  and  surplus  material  in  a  clean and serviceable condition.
