Parts Finisher – Metalworking Monday through Thursday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM Our client is a family-owned machine shop with 70+ years in business, specializing in jobbing work with an emphasis on brass, aluminum, and stainless steel. Their 10,000 sq. ft. air-conditioned facility features modern CNC mills and Mazak lathes, along with Mastercam CAD/CAM and a full range of grinding, finishing, and manual machining equipment. They are seeking a Parts Finisher with strong hand skills and an eye for detail. This hands-on role involves sanding, polishing, deburring, and vibratory finishing of precision-machined parts. The work is repetitive but quality-focused, requiring someone who can work independently and take pride in producing excellent finished products. To thrive/succeed as the Parts Finisher, you should have: Strong visual inspection skills with the ability to identify defects in high-volume production. Experience using sanding belts and hand tools, with an understanding of proper pressure and finishing techniques. Ability to safely operate, maintain, and perform basic belt changes on finishing equipment. Strong attention to detail with a focus on consistent quality, accurate part counts, and low scrap. Dependable, accountable, and safety-conscious, with good attendance and consistent use of required PPE. Able to follow instructions, accept constructive feedback, and work respectfully and effectively with supervisors and coworkers. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, take initiative, maintain a clean workspace, and lift up to 50 lbs. Your responsibilities as the Parts Finisher will include: Perform sanding, polishing, deburring, and other finishing operations on metal parts. Operate vibratory finishing machines and manual sanding equipment safely and efficiently. Properly set up, monitor, and shut down finishing equipment according to procedures. Perform first article and in-process inspections to ensure parts meet quality standards. Identify and address quality issues while communicating concerns to supervisors. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation while following all PPE and safety requirements.
