Job Summary

Job Summary Palo Alto Networks is seeking a Distinguished Architect Software Engineer to join Cortex AgentiX. You will play a pivotal role in building scalable agentic AI infrastructure, driving the next evolution of cybersecurity autonomous agents. This role is based predominantly in our Tel Aviv office and is ideal for innovators who thrive on disruption, collaboration, rapid self-learning, and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Architect Autonomous Infrastructure: Design resilient, low-latency execution environments for autonomous agents, focusing on state management, dynamic planning, and tool orchestration. Bridge AI & Systems Engineering: Integrate LLM orchestration, vector retrieval, and automated evaluation harnesses into enterprise-grade backend services. Set Technical Vision: Own architectural strategy for Cortex AgentiX, establishing standards for fault tolerance, security, and scalable AI operations. Drive Engineering Excellence: Lead technical design reviews, champion rigorous testing/eval frameworks, and mentor Principal and Staff engineers across multidisciplinary teams. Partner with Research: Translate cutting-edge security research and AI model capabilities into robust, production-grade products.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications 10+ years of software engineering experience designing high-throughput, distributed backend systems, with a track record of architectural leadership at scale. Hands-on experience deploying production-grade LLM architectures, agentic frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, AutoGen, or custom orchestrators), vector databases, and automated evaluation pipelines. Advanced mastery of Go or Python in cloud-native, microservices environments (Kubernetes, AWS/GCP/Azure). Deep expertise in event-driven architectures, asynchronous execution models, and system performance optimization under high concurrency. Proven ability to influence executive stakeholders, guide multi-team technical roadmaps, and elevate engineering capabilities across an R&D hub. Prior production experience with AI is mandatory, with a background in LLMs/harness/evaluation-tools and other AI Infra.

Preferred Qualifications
